His word is in my heart like a fire…
Jeremiah 20:9
My Dad has started writing poetry; I love it when people surprise me. His favorite style of poetry is haiku, and he has written over 2,000 since August 2008. I asked him to write about fire and he sent me these two poems.
I can go no other place
And find the abiding peace
In quiet He comes with fire
Lighting up my soul
And find the abiding peace
In quiet He comes with fire
Lighting up my soul
Come be the fire inside me
Your presence is what I need
To make Your presence real here
This is my desire

Thank you Terry for sharing – lots said in few words. Inspired me to look up “what is haiku” on google and might even try to respond with a fire haiku of my own in coming days!
I loved that so much – lots said with few words that I looked up “haiku” on google and have been inspired to try my hand at it too:
Silver in refining fire
Strips impurities
Becomes a mirror of ONE
Who I long to be
Silver in refining fire
Strips all the impurities
Becomes a mirror of ONE
Who I long to be
Great, Missy! Haiku helps me focus in “my morning watch.”
I made a slight editing on your Haiku
