The Teacher is here
And he is asking for you.
John 11:28

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing
He is asking for you.
Asking for you to be with Him, to listen to Him.
Asking for you to carve out time from your busy life
to give to Him as an love offering.
“You are not alone.”
for my Dad who found this verse
and for Sage who gave me a CD that made me cry
I was just thinking about Mary and Martha last night as I lay in bed. I was thinking about how when Jesus came to visit them, Martha was “distracted by so many things” and yet Mary had “chosen the better way”. And she had just been sitting there at His feet. Listening.
That was your point I think. That Jesus speaks and we need to be listening so we can know HIS voice.
Your talk yesterday truly encouraged me. I took time this morning to get up and spend some time alone with the Lord – first time in quite a while.
The verse I read today that made me think of our conversation was Heb 12:1. Throw off everything that HINDERS us and the SIN that entangles us. A runner does not fill his pockets with things that will slow him down. Made me think of swimmers who shave every hair so they can cut a fraction of a second off of their race time. Little hairs might not be sins, but just those things (Idol? aptly named, huh?) that will just be an “unnecessary weight” (amplified).
