Religion that God our Father
accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows
in their distress….
James 1:27
For the past few years I have been hearing about an Advent Conspiracy, which is a holistic approach to Christmas. I would like to propose a Valentine’s Day Conspiracy: Let’s turn Valentine’s Day into a day where we reach out to and comfort those who suffer from a relationship void. This year, consider how you might love and care for:
those who have lost a spouse
those who have lost a parent
those who live with loneliness
those who have lost a parent
those who live with loneliness
those who do not know they are loved by the Lord
Valentine’s Day must surely be an even lonelier time for these literal or figurative widows and orphans. I invite you to join in this conspiracy to help them feel the warmth of God’s love on this day. If you like, please anonymously share your Valentine stories after February 14.
This is great! I’m going to ask God to give me Spiritual attennas so that I may recognize those people he has put in my path. I’m so busy right now that I’m concerned I may have missed out on some awesome opportunities to bless and help others.
great idea!

Both my siblings are single. My sister is active in church and has many good friends and is on a skiing trip this week-end, but is desirous of a loving relationship. My brother has been in and out of multiple relationships, but as he gets older would prefer to settle down. Some of my students have planned a bowling event for those that are single in response to this phenomenon. I didn’t do much to support them, but may follow up and plan to be more actively involved next year.
