I found this verse recently and it reminded me of a conversation I had with my “Mama Sherrill” many years ago. We were discussing struggles in life and she said that she did not want to have an easy life; she wanted to have a story to tell about overcoming when she arrived in heaven. I also want to be one that overcomes…one that has a story to tell about how God rescued me.
To the one who overcomes,
I will give the right to sit with Me
On my throne, just as I overcame and
sat down with my Father on His throne.

These words are helpful in thinking about what overcoming stories do I have to tell and also, what weights are holding me back from what God wants to make of me. I was recently reading in Ephesians 3:20 of God being “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…”I want to be able to pray that God have free rein in my life. I connect this thought with not letting any weights I am holding on to keep Him from having free rein.

I just read this verse before your blog. All of these struggles are but momentary afflictions preparing us for our eternal life! If we can only keep this eternal perspective and not lose heart!
