The Lord spoke to you out of the fire.
Deuteronomy 4:12
I will refine them like silver and test them like gold.
They will call on My name and I will answer them.
Zechariah 13:9
~ God of Grace ~
You speak to me through the fire of pain.
Please help me to hear what You are saying.
I claim Your promise that You will answer when I call on Your name. The “fires” in my life make my soul thirsty for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
When God cut a covenant with Abraham in Genesis 15:17 a smoking oven appeared and a flaming torch passed between the pieces of sacrifice. The oven speaks of suffering, the furnace of affliction, and represents God’s purifying fire. When you are in the fire, you just may be right where God wants you to be. For it does things for you that can be accomplished no other way. However, in the midst of the fire there was a flaming torch (the presence of God). It keeps the light on the sacrifice (a pattern for Jesus) and reminds us that God keeps his promises and has committed Himself to us. Rom 8:32 “if God is for us, who can be against us?” Job 13:15 “Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him.”

I love your thoughts on fire. And the responses to words were inspiring. I wrote about fire in the December 17 Haikus that I gave you.
On March 22, 2009 I wrote these in response to
Psalm 104:4.
“You make the winds your messengers
fire and flame your ministers.”
I feel the fire in my soul
A relationship of joy
And eternal flame burning
Proclaiming HIs love
I can go no other place
And find the abiding peace
In quiet He comes with fire
Lighting up my soul
Forgiveness ignites
Healing my soul deep within
Love draws me near you
My heart burned when I met Him
My tears were hot from the pain
His decision to suffer
To connect with me
March 23, 2009
My heart is burning
He is right here beside me
Telling the stories Luke 24
There were others I wrote on the above days but these are the ones related to fire.
Thanks for encouraging me to continue pursuing the God of fire.
I love reading your thoughts on fire and the responses of your friends.
Love you,
dad
